HUE
In the morning, board a traditional ‘Dragon Boat’ for a 40-minute ride on the Perfume River to the
Thien Mu Pagoda, which overlooks the beautiful river. Historically significant, the Pagoda was the
center of Buddhism in central Vietnam. Continue to the Imperial Palace Citadel, where Nguyen
Dynasty ruled Vietnam until 1945. You will also see Thai Hoa Palace with its roof and columns
lacquered in immense gold.
In the afternoon, visit the Tomb of Tu Duc, one of the most beautiful works of royal architecture
during the Nguyen dynasty. Then visit the Tomb of Khai Dinh. Complete the trip with a visit to the
Minh Mang Tomb with its architecture that harmonizes perfectly with the surrounding scenery.
On the way back to the hotel, stop at a local village well known for its production of incense sticks
and original Vietnamese conical hats.
