Must See And Do In Cape Town

Most Popular Places and Activities to Explore in Cape Town

Constantia Valley

This is one of the best places included in Cape Town holiday packages. Today, South Africa has a great wine industry, with strong reds and whites. And Constantia Valley, which is located around 10 miles south of Cape Town, is where it all started. This region is characterized by oak-lined streets, huge stunning mansions, and its wineries.

Groot Constantia, the oldest vineyard in Cape Town, contains sweet vines and includes the likes of King Louis Philippe of South Africa, Napoleon Bonapart, and Jane Austin.

The Groot Constantia is on this valley's wine routes, which causes visitors to come for a tour and tastings at the wineries. You will need a car to go through the Constantia Valley, and each area has its prices and operating hours. But, if you want to go for some free sightseeing, you can explore this valley for no cost.

Table Mountain

The name says it all. A trip to this landmark is worth your time. The more energetic people may like hiking to this place, but nobody will judge you if you go for a cable car.

The views of this place are spectacular, but the cloud cover can come in and hide the view completely. There is also a little round walking area to follow at the top.

Norval Foundation

An art museum with a private family collection in an attractive setting deep in the suburbs of Southern Cape Town.

Art and history lovers would love the temporary and permanent exhibitions, which have set the bar quite high by featuring some of the best-known artists of South Africa. The outdoor garden, below the mountains, makes a great aimless ramble.

Boulders Beach

A sandy shoreline on the Peninsula with rocks and waves. Not so great for swimming, but it makes a great coastal walk. The main thing is the colony of wild penguins in Africa. I mean, who doesn't like Penguins?

Did you not hear? They have penguins. Penguins that can swim, waddle, and squawk at one another. They smell a bit weird, but hundreds of Penguins are there.

Kirstenbosch

Around 1300 acres of a garden near Table Mountain through the leafy southern suburbs of Cape Town, you'll find Kirstenbosch. The tree of the Boomslang or Canopy Walkway gives a spot that is perfect for you if you like bird-watching or taking selfies. You should also check out the protea garden, which is dedicated to the national flower of South Africa.

You won't find as many places to sit and soak up the sunshine in the city centre of Cape Town, and surely not as lush as this place is. Check out the schedule of all the events before you go if you want to catch a craft market, summer sunset concert, or a trail run.

Robben Island

Robben Island is also one of the biggest tourist attractions in Cape Town, and you must not be the only visitor to this island, but walking through the area where many South African freedom fighters, including Nelson Mandela, were buried, is a sight.

Not only do the preceding political prisoners work as guides and narrate the past life stories to you, but you also have the chance to bump into some

 correctional officers.

Camps Bay

Camps Bay is at the western end of Table Mountain. It is a wide stretch of sand flanked by bars and cafes. Just like Clifton Beach, the Atlantic waves around this stretch are too cold for you to swim, but Camps Bay is very family-friendly and has non-windy weather. So, it is a great area if you want to soak up the sun and have fun outdoors. Moreover, the restaurants on the beach side have a great atmosphere for cocktails during the evening.

Camps Bay is the south of Clifton Beach and can be reached by car through the M6 Highway, also known as Victoria Road, or the M62 Highway at Camps Bay Drive. Also, you can visit this beach no matter when you want to without any charges.

Clifton Beach

This beach separates the Atlantic Ocean from the mansions of Cape Town. It is also known as Millionaire's Row, with sugary-white sands of the beach. It is

divided into four beaches by large stones. Clifton Beach draws the sightseeing crowd and surfers as well. It is one of the most famous shores in the city due to its location.

Even though this place isn't great for doggy-paddling, people have recommended spending some time at this beach to stroll along the sand or watch it from a nearby restaurant.

This beach doesn't have chilly weather, as it is near a mountain. But still, the water is cold all year long. You can visit this beach no matter when you want to without any charges. You can get to this beach quickly by car through the M6 Highway.

Best Time to Visit
